Midterm Project

 Skull Mosaic

We were assigned to do Arts and Crafts made from scrap materials for our Midterm project for this semester. So what I did is skull mosaic. Without further ado, I'll introduce the materials to do this.

First, we will be needing the material that serves as the color in this mosaic. So since I don't have any old newspapers, I used these old stickers instead. Plus scissors, scotch tape, and sketch pad. You can use another platform aside from a sketch pad if you don't have one.

Second, do some sketching that will serve as your guideline when you start to stick the pieces.

By then, you can now start to cut the stickers into pieces and stick them on your surface of choice.

At this point, you might be regretting your life decisions sometimes. You might be losing hope to finish this work, but don't, there's still a way. You are still halfway done, you can do it!

Then, after all the struggle to finish this work, you finally did it.

I know it's a bit messy, but I believe the highlight and very important thing I learned here is to believe in myself, that I can do this. That's all, thank you so much! Until next time.

Exercise 6: Event Poster

 Event Poster

This event poster is inspired by a science-fiction book, titled Run For Your Life, that I have just finished reading. Where the students are encouraged to show off their research and inventions that might be used by the Capital, which is their Government, for future discoveries.

U-Week Activities 2022

University Week Activities

During the University Week, we were encouraged to join at least one of the different contests that the school offered, so I decided to join the Photo-Essay Contest. Below is the screenshot of my entry.

Also, here is the certificate I received even though I didn't win a place. I'm still happy that I became part of the U-Week 2022.

Exercise 5: Web-Based Ads

 Web-Based Ads

Since it's the month of May, and it's summer, I designed this poster minimalistic. The product is inspired by the weather we have for this season. The image above is just a draft and the image below is the actual Web-Based Ads I made.

Mi Amore

Creating this Web-Based Advertisement is not easy, to be honest, but the good thing about is I challenged myself in order to come up with this idea.
Honestly, this was the best output of mine so far, that's why I'm really grateful for the outcome.

My company's name is Mi Amore, and as you can see there are two flavors of coffee: Ghetto Espresso and Cafenella Latte. I came up with this kind of product because I think that Filipinos are born to be coffee lovers, even under the hot melting weather. The tagline here, "Me Time is Coffee Time" is simply that while we sip our coffee, we usually daydream or begin to separate from reality and go inside our own world. I came up with this kind of concept to experiment the contrast and balance of every element in the poster.

So, that was just the short explanation about my product. I hope you had fun reading it. That's all, thank you! See you next time!

Recreation of Renaissance Art

Recreation of Renaissance Art | Digital and Traditional Art

 Self Portrait 1504 - 1056 | Raffaello Santi

I recreated Raphael's "Self-Portrait" using ibis Paint X and Canva.

As you can see on the right side is the original image of the painting of the late artist.

I honestly had a hard time deciding how to start this project because digital art is not my forte, I'm more on traditional art which explains why my art is not that exceptional.

So this is the mini process of recreating this digitally.

First, I added a layer and then traced or outline the original picture. You can see there are patches in there, the purpose of that is for the tonal value of this work. I was trying to get the lightest tone of the paint so I did that.

Next, I hid the layer that contains the original picture, and that is the result. Then I tried adding some details about his curly hair.

Here you can see I tried applying some colors onto his face, but that was a fail because I don't know what color palette I should use there. So I decided that I should make it simpler.

This is the result. I chose not to apply too much color, but I thought that it was too pale. So, I came up with an idea to put some colors on the background so it'll look appealing to the eyes of the viewers.

But before putting up some colors to the background, I first converted it to a transparent PNG using Photoshop. After that, I then use Canva to put a suitable background to it.
Then viola! I know it's not that pretty, but at least I had fun recreating the artwork digitally.

Girl With A Pearl Earring 1665 | Johannes Vermeer

I tried recreating this artwork on a sketch pad and using watercolors.

First, I did a quick sketch on a sketch pad and then tried putting some watercolor on it. Honestly, this was the first time I use watercolor, that's why I was so nervous that I might ruin this one.

Then, I tried putting more colors and tried blending them as well. I know it's far from the original picture but I really am genuinely happy about this because this is not as disastrous as I'm expecting it to be.

Then on this one, I really tried blending the colors very well as I could, to be honest. I know this is not as beautiful as you're expecting it to be but I really tried my best as I could in making this one, and I honestly had fun making it. At first, I thought this could lead to another mental breakdown, but no.

While making this, I realized that I should have applied a lighter amount of colors at first so that it wouldn't become like this, but it's still okay though. After all, this is just my first time using watercolor. Also, I think I should practice more using it.

That's all, thank you so much I hope you had fun reading this blog even though it's not as creative as others but I really had fun creating this, and I think that's enough. :>
